The Complete At-Home Sculpting Protocol
6 min read · Updated March 2026
Your device is only as effective as how you use it. Most people who say “it didn’t work” weren’t following a proper protocol. This guide covers everything: preparation, gel application, movement technique, timing, recovery, and the mistakes that kill your results.
Before Your Session
STEP 01
Hydrate — 1 to 2 Litres of Water
Drink at least 1–2L of water 30–60 minutes before your session. Hydrated tissue conducts RF and EMS signals more effectively, and your lymphatic system needs water to function. This single step makes the biggest difference in your results.
STEP 02
Clean the Treatment Area
Make sure the skin is clean and free of lotions, oils, or makeup. These create a barrier between the device and your skin that reduces the effectiveness of RF and EMS transfer. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is enough.
STEP 03
Apply Conductive Gel Generously
Spread a thick, even layer of conductive gel over the entire area you’re about to treat. The gel creates the acoustic and electrical coupling that allows the RF and EMS signals to actually reach your skin and muscle. Without gel, the device just sits on the surface and does very little. Don’t be stingy — use more than you think you need.
During Your Session
STEP 04
Keep the Device Moving at All Times
Use slow, overlapping circular motions. Never hold the device still in one spot. Concentrated RF energy in one area causes heat buildup, which can lead to discomfort or skin irritation. Think of it like painting a wall — smooth, continuous strokes with no stopping.
STEP 05
10–15 Minutes Per Zone, Maximum
Divide your body into zones: stomach, left thigh, right thigh, each arm, hips, back. Treat one zone at a time for no more than 10–15 minutes. Going longer doesn’t improve results — it just increases the chance of irritation. More is not better here.
STEP 06
Start on the Lowest Setting
If your device has adjustable intensity, start at the lowest level and increase gradually over your first few sessions. Your skin needs time to adjust to RF and EMS stimulation. Jumping to the highest setting on day one is a common mistake that causes redness and sensitivity.
Golden rule: If it hurts, you’re doing it wrong. You should feel a warm, gentle vibrating sensation. If you feel sharp heat, stinging, or pain, stop immediately, add more gel, reduce the intensity, and make sure you’re keeping the device moving.
After Your Session
STEP 07
Wipe Off the Gel
Use a warm, damp cloth to remove the conductive gel. Your skin may be slightly pink from the RF heat — this is normal and should fade within 30 minutes. If redness persists beyond an hour, reduce your intensity next time.
STEP 08
Drink Another 1–2 Litres of Water
Post-session hydration supports your lymphatic system as it processes the stimulation from your treatment. This is when your body is doing the real work. Help it out.
STEP 09
Light Movement
A 20–30 minute walk after your session supports circulation and lymphatic drainage. You don’t need an intense workout — just gentle movement to keep things flowing. Even light stretching or yoga works.
Frequency and Scheduling
2–3 sessions per week. That’s it. Your body needs at least 48–72 hours between sessions on the same area to respond and recover. Daily use doesn’t speed up results — it overworks your skin and can cause irritation.
A good weekly schedule looks like:
- Monday: Stomach + hips (15 min each zone)
- Wednesday: Thighs + arms (15 min each zone)
- Friday or Saturday: Repeat your priority areas
Stick to this for 4–6 weeks before evaluating your results. The changes are gradual and cumulative — you won’t see dramatic differences after one session, but you will notice improvement over weeks of consistent use.
Common Mistakes That Kill Results
- Skipping the gel. Number one reason for no results. The device cannot work properly without conductive gel.
- Holding the device still. Causes hot spots and irritation. Always keep it moving.
- Not drinking enough water. Dehydrated tissue doesn’t respond well to RF or EMS. Hydration is half the protocol.
- Using it every day. Your skin needs recovery time. More sessions does not mean faster results.
- Expecting overnight results. This is a maintenance tool, not a magic wand. Commit to the protocol for at least 3–4 weeks before judging.
- Using lotions or oils instead of gel. Regular moisturizers don’t conduct RF/EMS signals. You need actual conductive gel.
Safe Zones and No-Go Areas
Safe to treat: Stomach, thighs (inner and outer), arms, hips, flanks, buttocks, back.
Never treat: Face, neck, throat, spine, head, chest/breast area, genitals, or any area with open wounds, sunburn, rashes, implants, or metal hardware.
If you have any medical conditions, a pacemaker, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have had recent surgery — do not use the device. Consult your doctor first.
